Breakfast with Santa

Last Saturday, an annual event, Breakfast with Santa, was held here at Alvin Community College.  The event is cosponsored by a number of organizations.  Cosponsors included:  Alvin Community College, Alvin Independent School District; New Hope Church; and more.  This year there was something for everyone:  Monster Trucks, a petting zoo, photos with Santa, a toy for children from Toys for Tots; a hot breakfast and a basket of food to take home.
This event has grown through the years.  This year, for the first time ever, the event was held simultaneously at two locations.  At the ACC campus we fed an estimated 1000 people.  Thanks to the organizers and the many volunteers, the event was a success.  Some of my students volunteered to be kitchen elves.
Here they are:
Pictured above is Rebecca with one of the numerous containers of pancake batter that was made that day.
And here we have Mother and Son Kitchen Elves!  Jamie, on the left, is in our program and her son

Christopher Harrington.

And last but not least, at the end of the event, we took a group photo with Santa and Mrs. Clause.
In front:  Dawn Prather, alum.
Middle, Left to right:  Rebecca, Mrs. Clause, Santa and Shelby.
In the back row: Yours truly and Rhonda.

It is through the efforts of these volunteers and many more that the event was a success.
Thank you.

Until next time:
Bon Appetit Y'all
